Logistics & Materials Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Logistics & Materials Manager at Polyvinyl Films, Inc. is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of several areas including inventory management, and inbound and outbound carriers to ensure the company’s logistics runs smoothly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- You will oversee & monitor the inventory & purchasing department.
- Complete and manage cycle counts.
- Monitor stock levels & distribution supplies.
- Work with and build relationships with vendors.
- Complete necessary weekly and monthly operation reporting.
- Manage and oversee all inbound and outbound truckload carriers.
- Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with the carriers.
- Manage Polyvinyl Film Inc. dedicated fleets (routes, schedules, etc.). Keep up to date on shipping carriers, routes, rates, and any changes to them.
- Manage key metrics for logistic carriers.
- Collaborate cross functionally across Polyvinyl Films Inc. and with external customers and key vendors to successfully execute the logistics movement of all deployments of product.
- Strengthen and develop partnerships with our logistics vendors and identify gaps where new vendors are needed.
- Continue to build more strategic relationships with current vendors to ensure success of product deployment.
- Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
- Ensure colleagues are adhering to company policies and procedures while maintaining dedication through mentorship and guidance.
- Maintain records to ensure proof of compliance.
- Strong attention to detail in daily site safety procedures.
- Use data and analytics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas of improvement.
- Ability to coach, lead and influence your team to not only execute best practices but also to lead corrective actions and delegate tasks to appropriate associates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or relevant experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Strong technical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Self-Managed and Motivated.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong work ethic.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with team members.
