Safety Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Safety Manager at Polyvinyl Films, Inc. is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for employees, temporary employees and contractors, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and manufacturing industry standards.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Conducting risk assessments and regular evaluations of existing safety protocols
• Organizing safety meetings and providing safety training to employees, temporary workers and contractors
• Performing routine inspections of worksites, equipment, and tools to identify safety concerns
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-miss events
• Maintaining compliance with local, state and federal safety laws and industry-specific requirements
• Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures
• Establishing a system for reporting and documenting safety incidents.
• Analyzing data to identify areas of improvement
• Collaborate with management, supervisors and employees/workers to address safety concerns

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience
• Proven experience as a Safety Manager in manufacturing (preferred) or related industry
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management and mitigation
• Bilingual – Spanish & English
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certified
