Sales & Marketing Operations Specialist
Position Title: Sales & Marketing Operations Specialist Date: December 2022
Reports To: COO and VP Sales & Marketing FLSA: Non-Exempt
GENERAL SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the COO and VP Sales & Marketing, the Sales & Marketing Operations Assistant will work under the guidance of the VP on strategic marketing initiatives to support the company’s overall business and sales goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Support the VP of Marketing & Sales in establishing a marketing strategy and plan to support strategic marketing initiatives and activities
- Assist in implementing marketing plans including print and online content
- Maintain an inventory of sales support promotional materials for use in marketing campaigns making sure all information is accurate and up to date
- Develop sales forecasts and prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing sales data
- Update and maintain the website and assist in developing a more robust social media presence to assist in overall marketing and communication efforts
- Strengthen and maintain the organization’s overall brand through all media avenues (LinkedIn, Facebook, website etc.)
- Conduct market research to analyze competitive landscape, identify target audiences, evaluate current market trends, and customer behavior
- Research competitive products, market share, pricing and advertising
- Prepare reports to analyze the data on product performance and sales in the market
- Plan attendance at conferences, events and other external meetings by identifying requirements, developing schedules, and establishing contacts
- Research new sources of prospective customers and provide recommendations to VP
- Monitor budgets by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Deliver high level of customer service with a focus on building and maintaining relationships
- Maintain sales files and perform a variety of marketing and/or sales support duties as requested by VP of Sales & Marketing and COO
- Stay up to date with market trends and best practices in the industry
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or an equivalent level of experience preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a marketing specialist role or similar capacity
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as Photoshop and web editing packages
- Strong understanding of traditional and digital marketing methods
- Strong understanding of SEO/SEM tools and techniques
- Must have experience in the use of social media and email and marketing campaigns
- Must be able to gather and interpret data and convert it into meaningful analysis
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Creative with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly customer-focused, goal-oriented and self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
