DIY Beauty Hacks with stretch-tite
stretch-tite can save you time outside of the kitchen, too! Here are some ways to incorporate it into your DIY beauty or self-care routine.
Prevent spills: When traveling, place a small square of stretch-tite over the opening of liquid toiletries, makeup palettes, and powder foundations. This prevents spills from pressure changes and movement.
‘Makeup Meal Prep’ Hack: The night before, apply a clean piece of stretch-tite to your face. Apply foundation, concealer, blush, and other products onto the plastic wrap. In the morning, reverse the wrap and press it onto your face to transfer the makeup. Then blend everything in, ensuring a smooth finish.
Marble nail art: To create a marble effect, first apply a base coat of polish. Then, take a small piece of crumpled stretch-tite and blot on a contrasting color.
Deeper Moisturizing: After applying creams, gels, or body masks, wrapping the treated area with stretch-tite to create an occlusive layer. This helps prevent the product from evaporating, allowing active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin. This is especially effective for creams that treat eczema.
Silk Press: After hair is styled or straightened, apply a light oil and wrap the hair in stretch-tite using a circular motion. Sit under a hot dryer for 3-5 minutes, careful not to overheat your scalp. This will trap heat from the dryer, helping to lock in style and create a smoother finish with more body.
